10 AM Worship Service; 5000 Strong

Beloved of God,

It is always a marvel to me how any piece of scripture can generate new meanings and layers of depth no matter how many times you've studied it before. I thought I knew Matthew's version of The Feeding of the 5000 well enough, having heard it my entire life, and yet I've learned so much more already this week.

And that, folks, is why we call it a sacred text – generative and always giving new life – just like Jesus did in feeding the multitudes. I'm looking forward to sharing with you some of my learnings and wonderings on this passage, and what it means for us in our lives today.
