May 25, 2025 - 10 AM Worship Service: The Company We Keep
Beloved Church,
Both Peter and Paul are two of the most well-known figures in Christianity. Peter (Greek for "rock"), aka Simon aka Simon Peter aka Simeon aka Cephas (Aramaic for "rock"), was one of the original disciples who Jesus trusted to become the bedrock upon which the church was made, his foibles notwithstanding. Paul, formerly Saul, was a Jewish convert to the ways of Christ and became one of the most prolific writers of the New Testament and influential figures throughout all of recorded history. And, despite their commonalities, like name changes that represent their faithfulness and their devotion to Jesus the Christ, they did not always see eye to eye.
This Sunday, our text from Galatians 1:13-17; 2:11-21 puts their differences of opinion on display, as told through Paul's perspective, himself. Yet, there are many accounts in scripture of these men speaking highly of one another's ministry, despite their significant differences. Together in worship we will explore the relationship between these two figures and how it might apply to our lives today.
ALL are welcome in person or online.
In faith,
Cydney
