From Weariness To Love

Greetings Friends,

We turn our attention on this fourth Sunday of Advent to Mary, the mother of Jesus, and her poetic response to the news of her conception known as the Magnificat. In our modern era we often think of Mary as meek and mild, but she was nothing close to that.

The Magnificat was a bold proclamation that through the birth of her son the world was about to change. The meek and the lowly would soon be lifted up while the rich and powerful would be made low. Mary was truly the first disciple, and she was not afraid to sing out the truth about what was about to happen in the world.
